Ram 1500 Rebel

The Ram 1500 Rebel has been making “best off-road truck” lists in 2016, 17, 18, and 19, which in our eyes shows some serious staying power. In addition to the Ram Rebel featuring extreme off-road capabilities both in the looks and performance department, and equipment like front tow hooks, skid plates, and an electronically locking rear differential, this article from Edmunds.com goes on to say that, the entire model range of the 2019 Ram 1500 (Limited, Rebel, Laramie, etc.) received 2019’s Edmunds Editor’s Choice Award for Best Truck. So even if you don’t own a Rebel, any Ram 1500 with some off-roading mods will do.

Starting price comes in right around, $44,695 with additional mechanical upgrades available such as a Hemi V8 instead of the standard 3.6-liter V8, four-wheel drive, and air suspensions. Techies can also upgrade to the 8.4-inch touch screen Uconnect Infotainment system that is compatible with both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Additional specs as outlined by Edmunds include:

  • Combined MPG: 17
  • Horsepower: 395 hp @ 5,600 rpm
  • Torque: 410 lb-ft @ 3,950 rpm

Nissan Titan Pro-4X

What this truck lacks in towing capabilities, it makes up for in off-roading performance. Nissan offers both the Titan and Titan XD with the Pro-4X packages, but Popular Mechanics argues that the shorter sibling the Titan (by 14. 7 inches) is better equipped for off-roading. This best off-road truck in Utah comes standard with a radiator skid plate, off-road dampers, all-terrain tires, and an electronic locking rear differential as well as hill-decent control and off-road performance shock. Starting at $44,880, this spacious and comfortable ride also features the following:

  • Engine: 5.6-liter V8
  • Horsepower: 390 @ 5800 RPM
  • Torque: 394 @ 4000 RPM
  • Max Towing Capacity: 10,990 lbs

This could also be used for water as well. Other components that make this truck featured in our Utah best off-road trucks list include four-wheel drive, internal bypass shocks, Kevlar-reinforced all-terrain tires, global skid plates and more than 9 inches of ground clearance. Chevrolet Silverado 1500 LT Trail Boss

As its name suggests, the Chevy Silverado 1500 LT Trail Boss, is a “boss” on off-road trails. For the newly redesigned model for 2019, there are two off-road trim levels, Edmunds explains the Custom Trail Boss and the LT Trail Boss, with the former being a pretty basic model. The LT Trail Boss, on the other hand, offers additional features such as a 5.3-liter V8 and an 8-inch center touchscreen for clear and concise navigation when you’re out in the middle of nowhere. Additionally, the LT Trail Boss has the same equipment of the Custom which includes skid plates, hill descent control, and a heavy-duty locking rear differential. The Trail Boss as is could be taken on easy to mild off-trail roads. However, additional features may need to be added on for personalization or if you plan on taking your Trail Boss on more extreme terrain. One of the best features about the 2019 Raptor is the new Jump Mode as told by Popular Mechanics, “When a 2019 Raptor goes airborne, it detects that the wheels are off the ground and automatically cranks up the compression damping, helping the truck to avoid bottoming out when it comes back to earth”.
